Christmas season starts too soon

Published by loislane26 under Uncategorized Edit This

When I was a little kid, Christmas was a very happy time. You put up and decorate the tree. You get to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what you want. You get presents.

Now it seems like such a nuisance. It’s annoying when you’re shopping in October and listening to Christmas music at the same time. Please, let us enjoy Halloween for Pete’s sake!

Last year I was still transitioning with living at a new place and starting a new job so I didn’t really plan well for Christmas. I was doing some shopping on Christmas Eve.

I wish Christmas wasn’t so much about consumerism. I like getting presents and gift cards but I’d be just as happy being able to enjoy my family and not have to worry about what to buy them.

When you’re a kid, you get to enjoy Christmas vacation. When you’re an adult, you usually don’t get a nice Christmas vacation. Since you get off for Christmas, you spend the other days of the week scrambling to complete things that you could be doing on that day off.

I’d just like to have every day after a holiday off so I can recover from travel and other excitement. Luckily, I have Black Friday off but I will be doing a good bit of traveling.

The key to Christmas shopping is starting early and looking for the deals. I started shopping in September.

I heard that Circuit City is bankrupt or something like that, so if that’s true, maybe that would be a good place to go if you’re looking for electronics or something in the technology line.

If you’re not sure what to get someone, I suggest you log onto www.evite.com. Under the gift option, you can click on the type of person you’re shopping for and there is a variety of gift ideas. For example, if your husband is kind of geeky, you can click on the geek personality and find a gift that suits him. If you’re not sure what kind of personality your friend or family member falls under, you can answer questions.
