Black Friday

Published by loislane26 at 11:13 am under Entertainment Edit This

Fortunately, I have off of work today! I’m very thankful for that.

I could have worked and saved my day off but meh, what’s the point?

I like Thanksgiving a lot more than Christmas anyway. Plus, I did a lot of traveling yesterday. I have even more today. Driving from my future in-laws’ house back to my parents’ house to see old friends. It’s about a two-hour drive. I haven’t made that kind of trip by myself in a long time. I used to drive that much a lot because of my fiance and my long distance relationship.

Why is the day after Thanksgiving called “Black Friday”?  Who wants to get up at 4 a.m. to get the sales at Kohl’s? Not me, my friends.

As much as I love bargain shopping, I’d rather not have to wake up at the crack of dawn to get a deal. Maybe when I have children I will go to Toys R Us early but not at 5 a.m.

I haven’t been shopping on a Black Friday in forever but I remember it being chaotic. You pull into the mall’s parking lot and everyone is looking for a space. Then you have the idiots who make their own spaces and then you’re swearing in the car at people walking and trying to park. Then you face long lines and cranky shoppers. Ugh. That’s not for me. I’m glad I’m going to dinner with friends instead.
