Always have your resume updated

Published by loislane26 at 5:36 pm under youth Edit This

Today’s economy is definitely scary. We keep on hearing about bailouts and layoffs. You never know when you could be the next on the chopping block.

I know several people who have been laid off and one person who has had their pay cut.

Although I feel that my position is relatively stable at my work, I keep my resume updated. (I know that just because I’m 24 and I don’t make much, I could still get laid off.) I figure that getting laid off is an emotionally taxing situation. You shouldn’t have to worry about typing up a new resume.

Also, even if you aren’t laid off, it’s still good to have an updated resume. If your friends tell you about a job that you’re interested in, it’s less work to get it ready. You just read it over for mistakes and hand it in.

Don’t hesitate to put volunteering on your resume. I included Relay for Life and another organization I belong to on mine.
